Attendance System using face recognition. Fully automated, UI operated. The model was trained using Keras Sequential layers and Softmax function at the output layer. The data is maintained in MongoDB and CSV at the backend. UI is created using Tkinter
Facial recognition could soon jump from your smartphone to your workplace with employers using it to mark attendance and gauge the mood of the workforce.Every day, corporate offices and institutes are working to increase the productive working hours in a day. When the current system of clocking in daily using a fingerprint scanner is a time-consuming and inefficient use of time. I have planned to design a Voice Interactive Face Detection Based Smart Attendance management and behavior analysis to ensure a better work culture and environment,efficiency in a secure manner using Intel dev cloud. Currently, we have fingerprint and Smart-card Based entries in nearly all offices and a few schools and colleges. These system then automates the calculation of salary or attendance percentage.But fingerprint scanning and smart card barcode entries tend to take up time and prove to also be imperfect. In contrast, Face Recognition method provides a unique feature for every individual which is stored in a central database and can be retrieved during recognition and validation. The system includes an embedded application deployed in a SCB( Single Board Computer) which can interact with the users in real time. It will take down in and out time of every employee and monitor their working behavior(future scope) and notify the corresponding employee and the authority at times. We are aiming to analyze people's behavior,mood and emotions by monitoring and studying their actions in real time which in turn will help the organization know about the physical and mental status of the employees. This process of direct integration of physical world into computer vision based systems will indeed result in efficiency improvements, economic benefits and reduced human exertions. As of now I have developed a basic voice interactive attendance monitoring using Jupyter Notebook on Intel dev cloud. The in and out time (including mid in and out) will be monitored in Google spreadsheet and the system will calculate how many hours an employee has spent in office premises. The system won’t allow employees to step into the office after a certain time and won’t consider the attendance if the total hours spent is less than four hours. Everyday a mail will be sent to the admin containing the attendance details of the employees. In future, I would like to implement behavior and mood analysis of the employees and the staff on the office premises which in turn will help the concerned staff provide with solutions to get over the listless mood or erratic behavior.

I would like to bring in a smart attendance system, which will help in recognising the students face and update the document with their Student Id and Student Name. Another main point of concern for us to introduce smart attendance system is time-consuming. Assuming for each class, I take roughly 5 to 10 mins to take the students’ attendance, and for every teacher, it is an additional task that consumes their time. With the world moving to automation more and more every day, I used image processing to develop the automatic process. I used Face detection to identify a person’s face and face recognition to verify the identified person’s face with the one I have in our database.

As it is known that primary identification for any human is face, face recognition provides an accurate system which overcomes the ambiguities like fake attendance, and time consumption. This system uses camera to capture photo and recognize the faces of students or employee's present in the photo will be marked present and attendance is stored.The captured photo is sent to the server, the face of the students are recognised and are marked present.

Introduction Overview of the System The purpose of this system is to build an attendance system which is based on face recognition techniques. Here face of an individual will be considered for marking attendance. During each session, Faces will be detected from live streaming video or webcam. The faces detected will be compared with Images present in the dataset/folder. If match is found, attendance will be marked for the respective student. At the end of each session, list of present students will be marked and their name will be Inserted in the excel sheet on real-time basis. Traditional method of attendance marking a tedious task in many schools and colleges. It is also an Extra burden to the faculties who shown attendance by manual while calling the names of students Which might take about 5 minutes of entire session, face recognition is as important as biometric. Background: Existing System Conventional methods are still being followed to mark attendance in many schools and colleges which is a more time-consuming task. The most common conventional methods being practiced in routine lifestyle are, the student is supposed to sign the attendance sheet manually, which is passed around the classroom while the lecturer is giving the lecture, sometimes this particular approach could undoubtedly allow the students to cheat about their attendance, where a student present in the class may sign for a physically absent student. Uncommonly, this attendance sheet could easily be either misplaced or lost with/without the lecturers knowledge. Another stricter conventional method which is more commonly used in practice is the roll call system, where the student is supposed to answer to his/her roll call made by the lecturer, sometimes this method also allows the student to cheat about their attendance by answering the roll call as present for a student who is not available in the class which is again a big task. Motivation: Manual Student Attendance Management system is a process where a teacher concerned with the particular subject need to call the students name and mark the attendance manually. Manual attendance may be considered as a time-consuming process or sometimes it happens for the teacher to miss someone or students may answer multiple times on the absence of their friends. So, the problem arises when we think about the traditional process of taking attendance in the classroom. To solve all these issue so we go with Face Recognition Smart Attendance System(FRAS).
